Have the Byers' family been kicked out of their own house?! Why is Will soaking wet!?
Unless you've been holed up in a basement playing Dungeons and Dragons instead of scrolling through Twitter obsessively, you will know that the first teaser trailer for Stranger Things 3 dropped yesterday. Confirming what is undeniably going to be the biggest season yet, the trailer for the Netflix show teased summer fun, romance, terrifying villains and, of course, a brand new monster.
'Stranger Things' Season 3: Release Date, Cast, Trailers And Everything You Need To Know
In case you haven't been keeping track, one of the main theories for season 3 is the involvement of Russian spies and a potential hack on Hawkins Laboratory. Throughout the new trailer, there appears to be a ton of hidden references and hints that the town has been infiltrated and everyone is in danger. There's also a fast montage at the end with a bunch of blink-and-you'll-miss-it moments, so let's take a look, shall we?
Fans hadn't seen or heard from Yurtle since Dustin let him lose in the Henderson house in season 2. He was spared, unlike poor Mews.
Steve's impact.
Episode 1 is also titled 'Suzie, do you copy?' which could have something to do with this. Seeing as Dustin appears to be setting it up, could he be trying to contact a girl he met at camp?
In the trailer, Hopper is sitting at a table alone. The scene after it is Joyce at home alone. Unless Hopper only owns one nice-for-1985-standards shirt, this likely happens on the same night. But is he out to dinner with Joyce or does he get stood up and arrange to meet her at the fair instead? Either way... JOPPER!!
There's usually a car, some seating and a washing line full of clothes outside the Byers' house.

Why is Will wet? Where is he? Is he at his deserted house? Is that his bedroom? What is HAPPENING?
Drag them.
Assuming that Joyce, Will and Jonathan have had to move out of their home, Hopper could be talking to Joyce. But Joyce appears to be wearing the same outfit that she's wearing at the Fair while Hopper is in his uniform instead of that nice-for-1985 shirt. Hopper is likely talking to someone else. Is he addressing the disgruntled residents of the town? Eleven?
Seeing as she's in the same outfit that she's wearing when she goes into the void, it's likely that Eleven goes to/or is able to see the Upside Down. The sky flashes red, just like when the Mind Flayer appeared to Will during his "True Sight" visions in season 2.
She does this twice in the trailer on two separate occasions, seeing as she's in two different outfits. We see her in the yellow shirt during a battle at Starcourt Mall, but when does this one take place?
Is he a Russian spy?!
There's a detail later on in the trailer that might suggest how he ended up getting this.
The same electric energy bursts out of a wall later in the trailer too.
Fun fact: Bruce Willis actually based his iconic vent crawl on Erica Sinclair's great 1985 escapade. Her impact! A legend!
By the looks of things, the Battle of Starcourt could see the kids face off against some humans. Later in the trailer, we see Steve - with his black eye and his Scoops Ahoy uniform - being injected with something.
Bruce is a "morally compromised news reporter in his 50s, outwardly sexist, overweight and bedraggled." He's played by Jake Busey. He also appears to be at the same hospital as Nancy and Jonathan, who can be seen at The Hawkins Post at the start of the trailer.
Battle of Starcourt is the final episode of the season.
Hopper vs. Russian spies? MURRAY TOLD YOU, HOP! HE TOLD YOU!
She's later seen in the void in the same outfit.
This is also the same dress that Nancy is wearing while she's sitting in The Hawkins Post at the start of the trailer.
It's a blue eye for a start which means it's not Eleven, Mike, Will, Steve, Joyce or Jonathan. It's not Max, because she doesn't have brown eyelashes and it doesn't look like Nancy. It also doesn't look like Dustin's eye either. Nor does it look like Hopper's eye.
Is this Billy's eye? Billy would make sense, seeing as he's now apparently infected? Yeah, it's definitely Billy.
If this isn't set to Cyndi Lauper's 'Girl Just Wanna Have Fun' (1983) then I'll be very upset!
This likely happens during the same scene where they're all in the mall. And it definitely looks like it's a human doing it... could it be the Russians?!
Listen...
JOPPER! HOLDING HANDS!
Mileven lives!
RUSSIAN SPIES CONFIRMEDT!
First of all, Barb 2.0 with the swimming pool. Second of all, if that's Billy hovering above her, then this is likely how he gets infected, right?
When Murray first tells Hopper about the Russian interference, he tells her about a Russian girl with psionic abilities. In season 1, Eleven was also used to spy on Russians during her time in the sensory deprivation tank. It's likely that Eleven is their target and they're looking to either kidnap her and use her or... kill her.
The Demogorgon has taken on a new form - and it's bigger and scarier than the ones we've seen before.
