Animal Crossing: New Horizons dropped on Friday to save everybody from the social distancing blues.
If you, like us, have been social distancing for the last week due to coronavirus then you’re probably wondering how the hell you’re going to make it through the next few weeks without dying of boredom.
Thanks to all the TV show cancellations, tour postponements and the general ban on fun with other humans IRL, things were starting to look bleak. Thankfully, there is still one shining light in the dark, one last beacon of hope in these god forsaken times. Yes, we’re talking about Animal Crossing.

For those that aren’t in the know (props to you for reading this article anyway lol), the hugely popular Animal Crossing is probably the most important video game this century. And if that sounds like hyperbole, it probably is BUT we're currently living through a pandemic and if you can't be dramatic during a pandemic, when can you be?
The latest edition of the game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, dropped on Friday (Mar 20), just in time for some social distancing gaming and the internet let out a collective sigh of relief via the medium of memes that they finally had something to do while in quarantine.
